DWELLING-HOUSES (RENT CONTROL) (AMENDMENT No. 6) (JERSEY) LAW 1993

A LAW     to amend further the Dwelling-Houses (Rent Control) (Jersey) Law 1946, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –

ARTICLE 1

In the long title to the Dwelling-Houses (Rent Control) (Jersey) Law 1946, as amended1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”), after the words “rent of” there shall be inserted the word “certain”.

ARTICLE 2

After paragraph (c) of the proviso to Article 2 of the principal Law,2 there shall be inserted the following paragraph –

“(ca) let for a term of less than nine years on a written contract which is expressed as conforming and conforms to a standard form of written contract prescribed by Regulations made under Article 7 of this Law.”.

ARTICLE 3

In sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1) of Article 7 of the principal Law3 after the words “is required” there shall be inserted the words “or authorized”.

ARTICLE 4

This Law may be cited as the Dwelling-Houses (Rent Control) (Amendment No. 6) (Jersey) Law 1993.
