ORDRE DU CONSEIL relativement aux pouvoirs des États
de passer des Règlements Provisoires Triennaux, en date du
14 AVRIL 1884.

LECTURE ayant
été donnée d’un Acte de la Cour Royale en date du 30
avril 1884, référant aux États un Ordre de Sa
Majesté en Conseil en date du 14 avril 1884, relativement aux pouvoirs
des États de passer des Règlements Provisoires Triennaux ; les
États ont ordonné que ledit Ordre sera enregistré dans le
livre de leurs délibérations et publié au lieu ordinaire,
à jour de Marché, afin qu’il tire son plein et entier effet
selon sa teneur.

WHEREAS
there was this day read at the Board a Report from the Right Honourable the
Lords of the Committee of Council for the affairs of Jersey and Guernsey dated
the 3rd day of April, 1884, recommending Her Majesty to order as hereinafter is
ordered.
NOW THEREFORE, Her Majesty having taken the said Report into
consideration is pleased by and with the advice of the Privy Council to Order and
it is hereby Ordered That such laws and ordinances as may be made
provisionally, or in view of being afterwards assented to by Her Majesty in
Council, and as may be passed by the whole Assembly of the States of the Island
of Jersey which can be put or remain in force for no longer than three years
may be from time to time re-enacted and renewed by the whole Assembly of the
States of the said Island, for a period not exceeding three years: Provided
always that such re-enactment and renewal shall be only of such provisional
laws and ordinances as relate exclusively to subjects of a purely municipal and
administrative nature: Provided further that such provisional laws and
ordinances do not infringe upon the Royal Prerogative and are not repugnant to
the permanent political or fundamental laws of the said Island.
And Her Majesty is further pleased to Order by and with the like
advice that the said power of re-enactment and renewal shall be exercised in
all respects in like manner, as the power of original enactment of provisional
laws and ordinances may be exercised, and shall be subject to all limitations
whatsoever to which the power of original enactment is subject.
And Her Majesty is further pleased to Order by and with the like
advice that this Order may be revoked by Her Majesty, or her successors by and
with the advice of the Privy Council.
And Her Majesty is further pleased to Order, by and with the like
advice that this Order be entered upon the Register of the Island of Jersey,
and observed accordingly ; and the Governor, or Commander-in-Chief, the Bailiff
and Jurats, and all other Her Majesty’s Officers in the said Island for
the time being, and all other persons whom it may concern are to take notice
and govern themselves accordingly.
