DEPOSITORS AND INVESTORS (PREVENTION OF FRAUD) (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1968.

A LAW   to amend the Depositors and Investors (Prevention of Fraud) (Jersey) Law, 1967, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

 

20th day of DECEMBER, 1968.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law :  -

ARTICLE 1

Immediately before paragraph (1) of Article 5 of the Depositors and Investors (Prevention of Fraud) (Jersey) Law, 19671 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) there shall be inserted the following paragraph –

“(1A)    The Committee shall refuse to grant an application for registration or, where registration has been granted, shall cancel the registration if the applicant or the registered person, being a body corporate, is not, or as the case may be, is no longer, incorporated in the Island.”

ARTICLE 2

In paragraph (1) of Article 9 of the principal Law2 after the word “registration” where that word secondly occurs there shall be inserted the words “under paragraph (1) of Article 5 of this Law”.

ARTICLE 3

(1)           This Law may be cited as the Depositors and Investors (Prevention of Fraud) (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1968, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited together as the Depositors and Investors (Prevention of Fraud) (Jersey) Laws, 1967 and 1968.

(2)           This Law shall come into force on the first day of February, 1969.
