MOTOR TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT No. 10) (JERSEY) LAW 1978

A LAW to
amend further the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935, to enable the Defence Committee to make orders prescribing fares and
charges for the hire of certain types of cabs; sanctioned by Order of Her
Majesty in Council of the
1st day of MARCH 1978.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of
Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –
ARTICLE 1
In Article 47 of the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935, as amended –
(a) in
paragraph (2) for the words “cabs so licensed at reasonable
charges” there shall be substituted the words “such cabs,”;
(b) after
paragraph (2) there shall be inserted the following paragraph –
“(2A) The
Committee may prescribe fares and charges payable for the hire of cabs licensed
under Regulations made in pursuance of paragraph (2) of this Article.”
ARTICLE 2
This Law may be cited as the Motor Traffic (Amendment No. 10)
(Jersey) Law 1978 and shall come into force on such day as the States may by
Act appoint.
