PHARMACY, POISONS AND MEDICINES (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1955.

amend the Pharmacy, Poisons and Medicines (Jersey) Law, 1952, sanctioned by
Order of Her Majesty in Council of the
6th day of MAY, 1955.

THE
STATES, subject to the sanction
of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law : -
ARTICLE
1
(1) In
the definition of “pharmacist” in paragraph (1) of Article 1 of the
Pharmacy, Poisons and Medicines (Jersey) Law, 1952,
(hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) the words
“or a chemist and druggist” shall be deleted.
(2) In
paragraph (2) of Article 2 of the principal Law, for the
words “or as a chemist and druggist in pursuance of the Pharmacy Act,
1868 (31 & 32 Vict. c. 121)” there shall be
substituted the words “or of the Pharmacy Act, 1953 (1 & 2 Eliz. 2.
c. 19)”.
(3) For
sub-paragraph (a) (i) of paragraph (1) of Article 3 of the principal Law there shall be substituted the following
sub-paragraph –
“(a) (i) a
copy of the last official edition of the Annual Register of Pharmaceutical
Chemists published in accordance with the provisions of section thirteen of the
Pharmacy Act, 1868 (31 & 32 Vict. c. 121) ;
and”
and, in sub-paragraph (a)
(ii) and in sub-paragraph (b) of the
said paragraph (1), for the word “Registers” there shall be
substituted the word “Register”.
(4) In
the heading of Article 6 of the principal Law and in paragraph (1)
of the said Article, for the words “Registers of Pharmaceutical Chemists
and Chemists and Druggists” there shall be substituted the words
“Annual Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists” and, in paragraph (2)
of the said Article, for the word “Registers” there shall be
substituted the word “Register”.
(5) Paragraph
(2) of Article 8 of the principal Law
is hereby repealed.
ARTICLE
2
This Law may be cited as the Pharmacy, Poisons and Medicines
(Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1955, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited
together as the Pharmacy, Poisons and Medicines (Jersey) Laws, 1952 and 1955.
