COURT OF APPEAL (AMENDMENT No. 3) (JERSEY) LAW, 1985.

A LAW           to amend further the Court of Appeal (Jersey) Law, 1961, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

 

13th day of FEBRUARY, 1985.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law:  -

ARTICLE 1

In the proviso to Article 23 of the Court of Appeal (Jersey) Law, 19611 as amended2 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) the words “conviction or” shall be deleted.

ARTICLE 2

In the proviso to Article 24 of the principal Law1 for the words “the appeal” there shall be substituted the words “, and his appeal is solely against the sentence passed on his conviction, such appeal”.

ARTICLE 3

This Law applies to all persons convicted by the Royal Court on or after the date on which this Law comes into force, but shall not affect appeals of any persons convicted before that date.

ARTICLE 4

This Law may be cited as the Court of Appeal (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Law, 1985.
