Protection of
Children (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Law 2004
A LAW to amend further the Protection of Children (Jersey) Law 1994.[1]

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have
adopted the following Law –
1 Article
2 amended
In Article 2 of the Protection
of Children (Jersey) Law 1994[2] –
(a) in
paragraph (1) the words “and shall be liable to imprisonment for a
term not exceeding three years or to a fine, or to both” shall be
deleted;
(b) after
paragraph (1) there shall be inserted the following
paragraphs –
“(1A) A person guilty of an offence under
paragraph (1)(a), (c), (d) or (e) shall be liable to imprisonment for a
term of 10 years and to a fine.
(1B) A person guilty of an offence under paragraph (1)(b)
shall be liable to imprisonment for a term of 5 years and to a
fine.”.
2 Citation
and commencement
This Law may be cited as the Protection of Children (Amendment No. 3)
(Jersey) Law 2004 and shall come into force on the seventh day following its
registration.
