BUILDING LOANS (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1952.

A LAW    to amend the Building Loans (Jersey) Law, 1950, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

 

24th day of MARCH, 1952.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law :  -

ARTICLE 1

For paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the Building Loans (Jersey) Law, 1950,1 there shall be substituted the following paragraph –

“(1)        No loan shall be made to any person unless he is a British subject who either –

(a)     was born in the Island; or

(b)     has been ordinarily resident in the Island during the whole of the five years immediately preceding the date of the application for the loan; or

(c)     is, at the date of the application for the loan, ordinarily resident in the Island, and has been so resident for any consecutive period of ten years.”

ARTICLE 2

This Law may be cited as the Building Loans (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1952, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited together as the Building Loans (Jersey) Laws, 1950 and 1952.
