PARISH OF SAINT HELIER (QUALIFICATIONS FOR CERTAIN OFFICES)

A LAW to
modify the qualifications for office of Constable and member of the Roads
Committee of the Parish of Saint Helier, sanctioned
by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the
9th day of APRIL, 1952.

THE STATES,
subject to the sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted
the following Law : -
ARTICLE 1
No person being a principal of the parish of Saint Helier shall be disqualified for being elected or for being
the Constable of that parish by reason only of the fact that he does not reside
therein.
ARTICLE 2
No person being a principal of the parish of Saint Helier shall be disqualified for being elected or for being
a member of the Roads Committee of that parish by reason only of the fact that
he does not reside therein, and, accordingly, in Article 3 of the “Loi (1914) sur la Voirie”, as amended, for the
words “résidant dans”,
where those words first occur, there shall be substituted the word
“de”.
ARTICLE 3
This Law may be cited as the Parish of Saint Helier
(Qualifications for certain Offices) (Jersey) Law, 1952.
