CREMATION (AMENDMENT No. 2) (JERSEY) LAW, 1983.

amend further the Cremation (Jersey) Law, 1953, sanctioned by Order of Her
Majesty in Council of the
22nd day of JUNE,
1983.

THE
STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council,
have adopted the following Law: -
ARTICLE
1
Sub-paragraph (f) of paragraph (1) of Article 3 of the Cremation
(Jersey) Law, 1953, as amended,
(hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) shall be deleted.
ARTICLE
2
For paragraph (1) of Article 3A of the principal Law there shall be substituted the following paragraph
–
“(1) The
Public Health Committee may make orders prescribing –
(a) the
fees and other charges to be made by the States for cremations;
(b) maximum
fees in respect of the completion of any medical certificates required by
regulations made under Article 3 of this Law.”.
ARTICLE
3
Paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the principal Law shall be
amended by deleting the words “not exceeding fifty pounds
sterling”.
ARTICLE
4
(1) This
Law may be cited as the Cremation (Amendment No. 2) (Jersey) Law, 1983.
(2) This
Law shall come into force on such day as the States may by Act appoint.
