A LAW to amend further the Emergency
Powers and Planning (Jersey) Law 1990

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have
adopted the following Law –
1 Article 1 amended
In Article 1 of the Emergency Powers and
Planning (Jersey) Law 1990[1] –
(a) in
paragraph (1), sub-paragraph (a) shall be deleted;
(b) after
sub-paragraph (1) there shall be inserted the following
sub-paragraph –
“(1A) The President of the Policy and Resources
Committee shall be the chairman of the Council.”;
(c) at
the beginning of paragraph (2) there shall be inserted the words
“The Bailiff,”.
2 Amendment consequential on the move to
ministerial government
In Article 1(1A) for the words
“President of the Policy and Resources Committee” there shall be
substituted the words “Chief Minister”.
3 Citation and commencement
(1) This
Law may be cited as the Emergency Powers and Planning (Amendment No. 2)
(Jersey) Law 2006.
(2) Subject
to paragraph (3), this Law shall come into force on the seventh day
following its registration.
(3) If
Article 42(3) of the States of Jersey Law 2005[2] is not
in force on the day described in paragraph (2), Article 2 of this Law
shall come into force on the same day as that Article.
