MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS (REGISTRATION) (AMENDMENT No. 2) (JERSEY)

amend further the Medical Practitioners (Registration) (Jersey) Law, 1960,
sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the
24th day of OCTOBER, 1978.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of
Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law: -
ARTICLE 1
In clause (i) of sub-paragraph (a)
of paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the Medical Practitioners (Registration)
(Jersey) Law, 1960, as amended, (hereinafter
referred to as “the principal Law”) for the words “section
forty-six of the Medical Act, 1956” there shall be substituted the words
“section nine of the Medical Act 1969 (c.40)”.
ARTICLE 2
In Article 8 of the principal Law –
(a) in paragraph (1) –
(i) for
the words “general register” there shall be substituted the word
“register”;
(ii) after
the words “Medical Act, 1956” there shall be inserted the words
“,or by the Registrar of the General Medical Council in accordance with
regulations made under section five of the Medical Act 1969.”.
(b) in paragraph (2) for the
words “general register” there shall be substituted the word
“register”;
(c) for paragraph (4) there shall
be substituted the following paragraph –
“(4) In
this Article, ‘the register’ means the register of medical
practitioners kept in pursuance of section three of the Medical Act
1969.”.
ARTICLE 3
This Law may be cited as the Medical Practitioners (Registration)
(Amendment No. 2) (Jersey) Law, 1978.
