CREMATION (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1980.

A LAW     to amend the Cremation (Jersey) Law, 1953, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

 

21st day of MAY, 1980.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –

ARTICLE 1

Sub-paragraph (h) of paragraph (1) of Article 3 of the Cremation (Jersey) Law, 19531 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”), shall be deleted.

ARTICLE 2

After Article 3 of the principal Law there shall be inserted the following Article –

“ARTICLE 3A

POWER TO MAKE ORDERS WITH REGARD TO CERTAIN FEES

(1)          The Public Health Committee may make orders prescribing maximum fees in respect of the completion of any medical certificates required by regulations made under Article 3 of this Law.

(2)          The Subordinate Legislation (Jersey) Law, 1960, as amended, shall apply to orders made under this Article.”.

ARTICLE 3

In paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the principal Law2 after the words “Article 3” there shall be inserted the words “, or any order made under Article 3A,”.

ARTICLE 4

(1)           This Law may be cited as the Cremation (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1980.

(2)           This Law shall come into force on such day as the States may by Act appoint.
