A LAW to amend the Firearms (Jersey) Law
2000; sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the
15th day of MARCH 2000

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of
Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –
ARTICLE
1
In Article 15 of the Firearms (Jersey) Law 2000 (in this
Law called “the principal Law”) –
(a) in
paragraph (2) for the words “the prescribed form and –” there
shall be substituted the words “the prescribed form and, subject to
paragraph (2A) –”;
(b) after
paragraph (2) there shall be inserted the following paragraph –
“(2A) Before granting or refusing to grant
an approval or varying or withdrawing an approval the Committee shall consult
the Comité des Connétables.”.
ARTICLE
2
In Article 38 of the principal Law after the
words “for life” there shall be added the words “, or to
both”.
ARTICLE
3
In paragraph (1) of Article 39 of the principal Law2 after the
words “for life” there shall be added the words “, or to
both”.
ARTICLE
4
In paragraph (1) of Article 40 of the principal Law after the words “fourteen years” there
shall be added the words “, or to both”.
ARTICLE
5
This Law may be cited as the Firearms (Amendment) (Jersey) Law 2000
and shall come into force on such day as the States may by Act appoint.
