MOTOR TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT No. 9) (JERSEY) LAW, 1971.

A LAW     to amend the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law, 1935, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

 

23rd day of JUNE, 1971.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law :  -

ARTICLE 1

At the end of paragraph (1) of Article 14 of the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law, 1935,1 as amended,2 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) for the punctuation mark “.” there shall be substituted the punctuation mark “:” and thereafter there shall be inserted the following proviso –

“Provided that the Committee may at its absolute discretion refuse to grant public service vehicle licences in excess of such number as it may in all the circumstances consider desirable in relation to any class of public service vehicle.”.

ARTICLE 2

In paragraph (3) of Article 19 of the principal Law3 for the words “a fee of five shillings” there shall be substituted the words “such fee as the States may by Regulations specify”.

ARTICLE 3

This Law may be cited as the Motor Traffic (Amendment No. 9) (Jersey) Law, 1971.
