POLICE FORCE (AMENDMENT No. 3) (JERSEY) LAW, 1986

A LAW           to amend further the Police Force (Jersey) Law, 1974, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –

ARTICLE 1

After paragraph (4) of Article 3 of the Police Force (Jersey) Law, 1974,1 as amended (hereinafter referred to as “the Law”) there shall be inserted the following paragraph –

                “(5)         The Committee may make an agreement with a police force in the United Kingdom, whereby there will be, on request, be placed at its disposal members of that force for the purpose of enabling the Force to meet any special demand on its resources, and in any such case those members shall, during their period of duty in the Island, carry out the duties and possess the powers and privileges of a police officer.”.

ARTICLE 2

In Article 9 of the Law2

(a)     in paragraph (3), after the word “Force” there shall be inserted the words “and of the Port Control Unit”; and

(b)     paragraph (5) is repealed.

ARTICLE 3

This Law may be cited as the Police Force (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Law, 1986.
