Her Majesty in Council of the

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of
Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –
ARTICLE
1
In Article 15 of the Social Security (Jersey) Law, 1974, as amended (herinafter referred to as “the
principal Law”) –
(a) in
paragraph (2) for the words “312” there shall be substituted the
words “364”; and
(b) in
paragraph (3) for the word “six” there shall be substituted the
word “seven”.
ARTICLE

In Article 18 of the principal Law –
(a) in
the proviso to paragraph (1) for the word “six” there shall be
substituted the word “seven” and the words “(Sundays being
disregarded)” shall be deleted;
(b) in
paragraph (3) for the words “312” there shall be substituted the
words “364” and the words “(Sundays or such other days as may
be prescribed being disregarded)” shall be deleted; and
(c) in
the proviso to paragraph (3) for the word “pension” there shall be
substituted the word “benefit” and for the words “312”
there shall be substituted the words “364”.
ARTICLE

(1) This
Law shall come into operation on such day as the States may by Act appoint.
(2) The
Social Security Committee may by order make provision for modifying and
supplementing in relation to the calculation of or entitlement to benefit in
respect of any period of time, the provisions of the principal Law as to such
matters, insofar as such provision appears to the Social Security Committee to
be necessary or expedient in order to achieve an orderly transition to a Sunday
being treated as a day of incapacity for work.
(3) The
Subordinate Legislation (Jersey) Law, 1960 shall
apply to orders made under this Law.

This Law may be cited as the Social Security (Amendment No. 5)
(Jersey) Law, 1986.
