THE JUDICIARY AND THE LEGISLATURE (AMENDMENT No. 3) (JERSEY) LAW 1997

A LAW to amend further the Departments of
the Judiciary and the Legislature (Jersey) Law 1965 and to make consequential
amendments to other enactments, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council
of the
20th day of MAY 1997

THE
STATES, subject to
the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the
following Law –
ARTICLE 1
In paragraph (6)
of Article 2 of the Departments of the Judiciary and the Legislature (Jersey)
Law 1965, as amended, for the words “, Solicitor
General or Judicial Greffier” there shall be substituted the words
“or Solicitor General”.
ARTICLE 2
In Article 2 of
the Advocates (Jersey) Law 1968, as amended –
(a) in paragraph (2) there
shall be deleted the words “, the Judicial Greffier”; and
(b) in paragraph (3), for
the words “, Her Majesty’s Solicitor General or the Judicial
Greffier” there shall be substituted the words “or Her
Majesty’s Solicitor General”.
ARTICLE 3
In Article 9 of
the Advocates and Solicitors (Jersey) Law 1997 –
(a) in paragraph (2) there
shall be deleted the words “, the Judicial Greffier”; and
(b) in paragraph (3), for
the words “, the Solicitor General or the Judicial Greffier” there
shall be substituted the words “or the Solicitor General”.
ARTICLE 4
This Law may be
cited as the Departments of the Judiciary and the Legislature (Amendment No. 3)
(Jersey) Law 1997 and shall come into force on registration, with the exception
of Article 3, which shall come into force on such day as the States may by Act
appoint.
