AGRICULTURAL MARKETING (AMENDMENT No. 6) (JERSEY) LAW 1999

A LAW   to amend further the Agricultural Marketing (Jersey) Law 1953, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law –

ARTICLE 1

The Agricultural Marketing (Jersey) Law 1953, as amended,1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) is amended in paragraph (1) of Article 3 –

(a)     by substituting for sub-paragraph (a) the following sub-paragraph –

“(a)   the total number of members of the board shall be no fewer than eight and no more than twenty;”

(b)     by substituting for sub-paragraph (d) the following sub-paragraph –

“(d)   the quorum of the board shall be no less than half of its total membership.”

ARTICLE 2

The principal Law is amended in paragraph (5) of Article 3 by substituting for the words “five members” the words “four or five persons (as the scheme provides)”.

ARTICLE 3

The principal Law is amended by substituting for Article 20 the following Article –

“ARTICLE 20

PUBLICATION OF NOTICES

A notice required to be published under this Law shall be published in the Jersey Gazette.”.

ARTICLE 4

This Law may be cited as the Agricultural Marketing (Amendment No. 6) (Jersey) Law 1999.
