ELECTRICITY (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1954.

‘The Jersey Electricity Company Limited’ ”, sanctioned by
Order of Her Majesty in Council of the
21st day of DECEMBER, 1954.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of
Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law : -
ARTICLE
1
The “Loi accordant certains Pouvoirs, Droits, Privilèges et
Obligations à la Société
dite : ‘The Jersey Electricity Company
Limited’ ”, confirmed by Order of His Majesty in Council of the
22nd October, 1937, (hereinafter referred to as “the principal
Law”) may be cited as the Electricity (Jersey) Law, 1937 ; this Law may
be cited as the Electricity (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1954 ; and this Law and
the principal Law may be cited together as the Electricity (Jersey) Laws, 1937
and 1954.
ARTICLE
2
Immediately after the first paragraph of Article 6 of the principal
Law there shall be inserted the following paragraph
–
“The Company may permit overhead lines (other than lines
necessary for the carrying on of its undertaking) to be attached to any poles
or pillars so erected :
Provided that no such line shall be so attached except with the
consent of the Constable of the Parish, or, in the case of a line to be
attached to a pole or pillar erected on a roadway under the control of the
States, with the consent of the Main Roads Committee, and that, in relation to
any such line, the Company shall comply with such requirements for securing the
safety of the public as the said Committee may think fit to impose”.
