PUBLIC SERVICE (JERSEY) LAW, 1973.

A LAW to
enable the Establishment Committee to determine the salaries and other
conditions of service of principal officers and members of the civil service,
sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council on the
24th day of OCTOBER, 1973.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of
Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law: -
ARTICLE 1
(1) In
Article 3 of the Civil Service Administration (Jersey) Law, 1948, as amended, for the
words “The States may make rules” there shall be substituted the
words “The Establishment Committee may make Orders”.
(2) In
paragraph (1) of Article 8 of the Departments of the Judiciary and the
Legislature (Jersey) Law, 1965, for the
words “as may be fixed by the States” there shall be substituted
the words “as may be determined by the Establishment Committee after
negotiation with the officers concerned”.
ARTICLE 2
(1) This
Law may be cited as the Public Service (Jersey) Law, 1973.
(2) Any
rules or decision made by the States under either of the Laws mentioned in
Article 1 of this Law and in force immediately before the coming into force of
this Law shall continue in force until otherwise determined by the
Establishment Committee.
