(Jersey) Law 1948, as amended, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of

20th day of MAY 1997

THE
STATES, subject to
the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the
following Law –
ARTICLE 1
After Article 13
of the Royal Court (Jersey) Law 1948, as amended, there shall be inserted the
following Article –
“ARTICLE 13A
Quorum of the Superior Number
(1) Subject
to paragraph (2) of this Article, the Superior Number of the Royal Court shall
for all purposes, criminal or civil, be duly constituted only if it consists of
the Bailiff and not less than five Jurats.
(2) Paragraph
(1) of this Article is without prejudice to the provisions of –
(a) Article 7 of the Loi
(1864) réglant la procédure criminelle, as amended; and
(b) Article 23 of the Court
of Appeal (Jersey) Law 1961, as amended.”.
ARTICLE 2
This Law may be
cited as the Royal Court (Amendment No. 9) (Jersey) Law 1997.
