A LAW to amend the Costs in Criminal
Cases (Jersey) Law 1961, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the
30th day of OCTOBER 1997

THE
STATES, subject to
the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the
following Law –
ARTICLE 1
In paragraph (9)
of Article 2 of the Costs in Criminal Cases (Jersey) Law 1961 (hereinafter referred to as
“the principal Law”) for the words “with a view to his being
sentenced to Borstal training under Article 2 of the Criminal Justice (Jersey)
Law 1957” there shall be substituted the words “under Article 4A of
the Magistrate’s Court (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Jersey) Law 1949, as amended, to receive
sentence”.
ARTICLE 2
In paragraph (2)
of Article 3 of the principal Law, for the words “Court of Appeal may,
when it allows an appeal against a conviction” there shall be substituted
the words “Superior Number of the Royal Court, when it allows an appeal
against a sentence, or the Court of Appeal, when it allows an appeal against a
conviction or a sentence, may”.
ARTICLE 3
This Law may be
cited as the Costs in Criminal Cases (Amendment) (Jersey) Law 1997.
