Education (Governing Bodies) (Jersey) Order 2006

THE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION, SPORT AND CULTURE, in pursuance of Article 57(6) of the Education (Jersey) Law 1999,[1] and having consulted in accordance with paragraphs (7) and (8) of that Article, orders as follows –

1        Interpretation

In this Order, “Schedule 4” means Schedule 4 to the Education (Jersey) Law 1999.

2        Schedule 4, paragraph 5(1) amended

In paragraph 5(1) of Schedule 4 –

(a)     sub-paragraph (b) shall be deleted;

(b)     in sub-paragraph (d), for the words “clauses (a) to (c)” there shall be substituted the words “clauses (a) and (c)”.

3        Schedule 4, paragraph 6 amended

In paragraph 6 of Schedule 4 –

(a)     in sub-paragraph (5), the words “Subject to sub-paragraph (6),” shall be deleted;

(b)     sub-paragraph (6) shall be deleted;

(c)     in sub-paragraph (7), the words “, other than the nominated governor,” shall be deleted.

4        Schedule 4, paragraph 7(2) amended

In paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 4, before clause (a) there shall be inserted the following clause –

“(aa)  the Minister or a person nominated by the Minister for the purpose;”.

5        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Education (Governing Bodies) (Jersey) Order 2006 and shall come into force 7 days after it is made.
