(Periodic Technical Inspections – Fees) (Jersey) Order 2019

THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE makes this Order under Articles 78A and
84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[1] –
1 Fees
for inspections
(1) The
fee for an inspection under Article 78A of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[2] is –
(a) £30
for a light motor cycle or moped;
(b) £90
for a minibus;
(c) half
of the fee in (a) or (b) respectively for –
(i) a re-inspection
of the vehicle carried out within 30 days after a refusal to issue a
certificate of satisfaction, or
(ii) a further
examination of the vehicle carried out under Article 120(9) of the Motor
Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Jersey) Order 1998[3] as applied by Article 3(6)
of the Road Traffic (Periodic Technical Inspections – General
Provisions) (Jersey) Order 2018[4].
(2) The
fee is payable to the Minister, who –
(a) may
refuse to make an appointment for an inspection until the fee is paid; and
(b) may
refund the fee if the person who made the appointment cancels it 3 or more
clear working days before it.
(3) If
the Minister is satisfied that a copy of a certificate of satisfaction, given
under Article 3(5)(c) of the Road Traffic (Periodic Technical Inspections –
General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 2018[5], has been lost or defaced,
the Minister must authorise a duplicate copy certificate to be given to the person
registered as the owner of the vehicle under the Motor Vehicle Registration
(Jersey) Law 1993[6], on payment of a fee of the
same amount as is payable under Article 121(1) of the Motor Vehicles
(Construction and Use) (Jersey) Order 1998[7].
2 Citation
and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Periodic Technical
Inspections – Fees) (Jersey) Order 2019 and comes into force on
1st February 2019.
