ROAD TRAFFIC (SAINT HELIER) (AMENDMENT No. 8) (JERSEY) ORDER 2001

THE PUBLIC SERVICES
COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 33, 33A, 33B
and 42 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956, as amended, and after consultation with the Connétable of Saint Helier, has made
the following Order -
1. For
Article 15 of the Road Traffic (Saint Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996, there shall be substituted the following Article -
“Charges at paying parking places
15.-(1) The charge
for parking a vehicle at a paying parking place shall be -
(a) if the vehicle
complies with Article 28(1), one parking unit for each period of two hours
or part of two hours; and
(b) in any other
case, one parking unit for each period of one hour or part of one hour.
(2) In paragraph (1) ‘parking unit’ has
the same meaning as in the Road Traffic (Public Parking Places) (Jersey) Order
2001.”.
2. The
Road Traffic (Saint Helier) (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Order 1998 is revoked.
3. This
Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Saint Helier) (Amendment No. 8)
(Jersey) Order 2001 and shall come into force on the first day of February
2001.

Road Traffic (Saint Helier) (Amendment No. 8) (Jersey) Order 2001
Public Services Committee
The purpose of this Order is to increase the charge for parking at
certain places in St. Helier.
The standard charge is increased from 35 pence to 39 pence.
The opportunity has been taken to link this charge with the standard
charge prescribed for the purposes of the Road Traffic (Public Parking Places)
(Jersey) Order 2001 so that in future only one Order need be made to vary
parking charges.
The Order was made on 22nd January 2001 and comes into force on 1st
February 2001.
