Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Amendment No. 8) (Jersey) Order 2014

THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES, in pursuance of Articles 21 and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[1], orders as follows –

1        Interpretation

In this Order “principal Order” means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Jersey) Order 2003[2].

2        Schedule 1 amended

In Schedule 1 to the principal Order –

(a)     in the entries under the heading “St. Brelade” –

(i)      the entries for “Charing Cross” and “La Petite Route des Mielles” are deleted,

(ii)      for the entry for “Le Mont les Vaux”, there is substituted the following entry –

“Le Mont les Vaux (from La Grande Route de St. Brelade to a point 55 yards north of Le Chemin des Pietons)”,

(iii)     for the entry for “La Neuve Route”, there is substituted the following entry –

“La Neuve Route (from the northern boundary of the Church of the Sacred Heart to La Route de la Haule)”,

(iv)     for the entry for “La Route des Gènets (from its junction with La Grande Route de St. Brelade to a point 22 yards west of the junction with La Route de Noirmont and from its junction with La Petite Route des Mielles to its junction with La Route Orange)”, there is substituted the following entry –

“La Route des Gènets”,

(v)     for the entry for “La Route Orange (from the eastern entrance of Le Clos des Sables to La Route des Gènets)”, there is substituted the following entry –

“La Route Orange”, and

(vi)     after the entry for “La Rue du Pont Marquet”, there is added the following entry –

“La Rue de la Sergenté (from a point 164 yards north-west of its junction with La Route Orange”;

(b)     in the entries under the heading “St. John”, for the entry for “La Route de St. Jean (from La Mare Ballam to La Route du Nord)”, there is substituted the following entry –

“La Route de St. Jean (from La Rue de la Mare Ballam to a point 104 yards west of La Rue du Cimetière)”;

(c)     in the entries under the heading “St. Mary” –

(i)      the following entries are deleted –

(A)    “La Route de Ste. Marie (from the western boundary of the Le Clos de L’Arsenal to La Rue des Buttes)”,

(B)     “La Rue de Bel Air (from La Rue des Buttes to La Rue du Duet)”,

(C)     “La Rue des Buttes”,

5        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Amendment No. 8) (Jersey) Order 2014 and shall come into force 7 days after the day on which it is made.
