Matrimonial Causes (Amendment) Rules 2007

THE SUPERIOR NUMBER OF THE ROYAL COURT, in pursuance of Article 13 of the Royal Court (Jersey) Law 1948[1] and Article 43 of the Matrimonial Causes (Jersey) Law 1949[2], has made the following Rules –

1        Interpretation

In these Rules, “principal Rules” means the Matrimonial Causes Rules 2005[3].

2        Rule 6 amended

In Rule 6(1) of the principal Rules for the words “Article 15” there shall be substituted the words “Article 17”.

3        Rule 42 amended

In Rule 42(1) of the principal Rules 2005, for the words “6 weeks from the date of the decree nisi” there shall be substituted the words “the period of 3 months specified in Article 20(3) of the Law”.

4        Citation and commencement

These Rules may be cited as the Matrimonial Causes (Amendment) Rules 2007 and shall come into force 7 days after they are made.
