Education (Provided Schools – Amendment of Law) (Jersey) Regulations 2016

THE STATES, in pursuance of Articles 3(4) and 68 of the Education (Jersey) Law 1999[1], have made the following Regulations –

1        Interpretation

In these Regulations, the “Law” means the Education (Jersey) Law 1999[2].

2        Schedule 1 amended

(1)     In Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Law, in the list of provided schools –

(a)     for the words “Jersey College for Girls Preparatory School” there shall be substituted the words “Jersey College Preparatory School”; and

(b)     the words “St. James’ School” shall be deleted.

(2)     In Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Law, in the definition “fee paying provided schools”, for the words “Jersey College for Girls Preparatory School” there shall be substituted the words “Jersey College Preparatory School”.

3        Schedule 4 amended

In Schedule 4 to the Law –

(a)     in paragraph 2 in Part 1; and

(b)     in paragraph 19 (including in the provision inserted by that paragraph) in Part 5,

for the words “Jersey College for Girls Preparatory School” in each place in which they occur, there shall be substituted the words “Jersey College Preparatory School”.

4        Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Provided Schools – Amendment of Law) (Jersey) Regulations 2016 and shall come into force on 31st August 2016.
