Terrorism
(Proscribed Organizations) (Amendment) (Jersey) Order 2003

Coming into force 1st
September 2003
THE HOME AFFAIRS COMMITEE, in pursuance of Article 6(3)(a) and (c) of
the Terrorism (Jersey) Law 2002,[1] orders as follows –
1 Proscribed organizations added
Schedule 1 to the Terrorism (Jersey) Law 2002 shall be
amended –
(a) by
adding at the end of the list of proscribed organizations[2] the following
organizations –
Abu Sayyaf Group
Asbat Al-Ansar
Islamic Movement of
Uzbekistan
Jemaah Islamiyah;
(b) by
adding the following note at the end of the Schedule[3] –
“Note: The entry for
Jemaah Islamiyah refers to the organization using that name that is based in
south-east Asia, members of which were arrested by the Singapore authorities in
December 2001 in connection with a plot to attack US and other Western targets
in Singapore.”.
2 Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Terrorism (Proscribed Organizations)
(Amendment) (Jersey) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st September
2003.
