THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE makes this Order under Articles 62, 63, 64 and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 –

1        Order amended

This Order amends the Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996.

2        Article 2 (interpretation) amended

In Article 2 after the definition “at night” there is inserted –

“ “commercial vehicle” means a vehicle designed or manufactured solely or mainly for purposes other than those of a private household;”.

3        Schedule 1 (one-way traffic) amended

(1)     In Part 1 of Schedule 1 –

(a)     for the entry in the second column relating to the item “Ann Place” in the first column, there is substituted “Ann Street to Providence Street”;

(b)     for the 2 items starting “Broad Street” in the first column and their entries in the second column there is substituted –

“Broad Street (between Conway Street and Charing Cross)

Conway Street to Charing Cross

Broad Street (between Conway Street and Library Place)

Conway Street to Library Place”;

 

(c)     for the item starting “Charing Cross” in the first column and its entry in the second column there is substituted –

6        Schedule 6 (pedestrian roads – closing to, and restricted use by, vehicular traffic) amended

(1)     In Part 1 of Schedule 6 –

(a)     after the item starting “Bath Street between its junction with Hilgrove Street” in the first column and its entry in the second column there is inserted –

8        Schedule 9 (Saint Helier residential and business parking zones) amended

In Part 1 of Schedule 9, under the heading “Roads and Parts of Roads Within St. Mark’s Zone” in the entry starting “Janvrin Road” for the words after “between” there is substituted “a point 10 yards north of Byron Lane and a point 10 yards south of St. Mark’s Road”.

9        Schedule 10 (parking of vehicles on roads for loading and unloading) amended

In Schedule 10 –

11      Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Amendment No. 38) (Jersey) Order 2022 and comes into force on the day after the day it is made.
