of Jersey (Transfer of Responsibilities and Functions) (Patents and Registered
Designs) (Jersey) Order 2020

Coming into
force 11th July 2020
THE CHIEF MINISTER makes this Order under Article 29A
of the States of Jersey Law 2005[1] –
1 Responsibilities and
functions transferred to Minister for External Relations
(1) The responsibilities and functions of the
Chief Minister under the following enactments are transferred to the Minister
for External Relations –
(a) the Patents (Jersey) Law 1957[2];
(b) the Registered Designs
(Jersey) Law 1957[3].
(2) In the Patents (Jersey) Law 1957 –
(a) in Article 1(1) after
the definition of “invention” there is inserted –
“ “Minister” means the Minister for External
Relations;”;
(b) in Article 13(6) for
“Chief Minister” there is substituted “Minister”.
(3) In the Registered Designs (Jersey) Law 1957 –
(a) in Article 1(1) after
the definition of “Government department” there is inserted –
“ “Minister” means the “Minister
for External Relations;”;
(b) in Article 14(6) for
“Chief Minister” there is substituted “Minister”.
2 Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as
the States of Jersey (Transfer of Responsibilities and Functions) (Patents and
Registered Designs) (Jersey) Order 2020 and comes into force on the day after
the day it is made.
