Medicines (Sale and Supply) (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment No. 5) (Jersey) Order 2003

THE HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 65 and 111 of the Medicines (Jersey) Law 1995,[1] orders as follows –

1        Article 1A inserted

After Article 1 of the Medicines (Sale and Supply) (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Jersey) Order 1997[2] there shall be inserted the following Article –

“1A   Safekeeping of medicinal products

(1)     Every person conducting a retail pharmacy business shall install and maintain at every premises where the business is conducted an intruder alarm system in accordance with paragraph (2).

(2)     The alarm system mentioned in paragraph (1) shall be activated whenever the premises are unoccupied and shall be capable of detecting entry by any intruder and alerting a monitoring station operated by a person approved by the Committee.”.

2        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Medicines (Sale and Supply) (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment No. 5) (Jersey) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st January 2004.
