Animal Health (Amendment of Law) (Jersey) Order 2019

Coming into force                                                                        10th October 2019

THE MINISTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT makes this Order under Articles 2(2) and 3(2) of the Animal Health (Jersey) Law 2016[1] –

1        Amendment of Animal Health (Jersey) Law 2016

Schedules 1 and 2 to the Animal Health (Jersey) Law 2016[2] are amended in accordance with the following provisions of this Order.

2        Schedule 1 (diseases) amended

In Schedule 1 –

(a)     after “Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea” there is inserted “Psittacosis (also known as Ornithosis)”;

(b)     after “Rift Valley fever” there is inserted “Rinderpest virus”;

(c)     after “Swine vesicular disease” there is inserted –

Teschen disease

Trichinellosis”.

3        Schedule 2 (specified pathogens) amended

In Schedule 2, after “Peste des petits ruminants virus” there is inserted “Psittacosis (also known as Ornithosis)”.

4        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Animal Health (Amendment of Law) (Jersey) Order 2019 and comes into force on 10th October 2019.
