Animal Health (Miscellaneous Amendments – Diseases) (Jersey) Order 2021

THE MINISTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT makes this Order under Article 2(2), 4(2), 7 and 17(8) of the Animal Health (Jersey) Law 2016 –

1        Animal Health (Jersey) Law 2016 amended

In the Animal Health (Jersey) Law 2016 –

(a)     in the list in Schedule 1 (diseases) –

(i)      after “Aujesky’s disease” there is inserted “Avian chlamydiosis (Psittacosis otherwise known as Ornithosis)”,

(ii)      for “Contagious bovine pleuro-pneumonia” there is substituted –

Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia

Contagious caprine pleuropneumonia”,

(iii)     after “Glanders” there is inserted “infection with Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans,

(iv)     “Psittacosis (also known as Ornithosis)” is deleted,

(v)     after “small hive beetle” there is inserted “Surra (Trypanosoma evansi)”;

(b)     in the list in Part 1 of Schedule 2 (specified pathogens) –

(i)      after “Burkholderia mallei.” there is inserted “Campylobacter foetus subspecies venerealis.”,

(ii)      after “Cochliomyia hominivorax.” there is inserted Coxiella burnetii.”,

(iii)     after “Monkey pox virus.” there is inserted –

Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis.

Mycobacterium caprae.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis.”,

(iv)     after “Mycoplasma capricolum sub species capripneumoniae.” there is inserted –

Mycoplasma gallisepticum.

Mycoplasma meleagridis.”,

(v)     after “Peste des petits ruminants virus.” there is inserted “Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus.”,

(vi)     after “St. Louis equine encephalomyelitis virus.” there is inserted –

Salmonella pullorum.

Salmonella gallinarum.

Salmonella arizonae.”,

(vii)    after “Trichinella spiralis.” there is inserted “Trichomonas foetus.”.

2        Animal Health (Miscellaneous Exotic Diseases) (Jersey) Order 2017 amended

In the Animal Health (Miscellaneous Exotic Diseases) (Jersey) Order 2017 –

(a)     in Article 2(2) (application) after “include” there is inserted “birds, animals of the order Caudata and”;

(b)     in Article 3(1) (power to kill animals) –

(i)      for sub-paragraph (f) there is substituted –

“(f)    Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia;

(fa)    Contagious caprine pleuropneumonia;”,

(ii)      after sub-paragraph (h) there is inserted –

“(ha)  Ebola;”,

(iii)     after sub-paragraph (n) there is inserted –

“(na)  Infection with Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans;”,

(iv)     after sub-paragraph (s) there is inserted –

“(sb)  Surra (Trypanosoma evansi);”;

3        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Animal Health (Miscellaneous Amendments – Diseases) (Jersey) Order 2021 and comes into force 7 days after it is made.
