(Amendment of Schedule 2 to Law) (Jersey) Order 2009

THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES, in pursuance of Article 3(2) of
the Misuse of Drugs (Jersey) Law 1978[1], orders as follows –
1 Interpretation
In this Order “Law” means the Misuse of Drugs (Jersey) Law 1978[2].
2 Part
2 of Schedule 2 to Law amended
At the end of paragraph 1 of Part 2 of Schedule 2 to the Law there
shall be added the following sub-paragraphs –
“(c) any compound structurally
derived from 3-(1-naphthoyl)indole or 1H-indol-3-yl-(1-
naphthyl)methane by substitution at the nitrogen atom of the indole ring by
alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkylmethyl, cycloalkylethyl or 2-(4-morpholinyl)ethyl,
whether or not further substituted in the indole ring to any extent, whether or
not substituted in the naphthyl ring to any extent;
(d) any compound structurally derived from
3-(1-naphthoyl)pyrrole by substitution at the nitrogen atom of the pyrrole ring
by alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkylmethyl, cycloalkylethyl or 2-(4-morpholinyl)ethyl,
whether or not further substituted in the pyrrole ring to any extent, whether
or not substituted in the naphthyl ring to any extent;
(e) any compound structurally derived from
1-(1-naphthylmethyl)indene by substitution at the 3-position of the indene ring
by alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkylmethyl, cycloalkylethyl or 2-(4-morpholinyl)ethyl
whether or not further substituted in the indene ring to any extent, whether or
not substituted in the naphthyl ring to any extent;
(f) any compound structurally derived from
3-phenylacetylindole by substitution at the nitrogen atom of the indole ring
with alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkylmethyl, cycloalkylethyl or
2-(4-morpholinyl)ethyl, whether or not further substituted in the indole ring
to any extent, whether or not substituted in the phenyl ring to any extent;
(g) any compound structurally derived from
2-(3-hydroxycyclohexyl)phenol by substitution at the 5-position of the phenolic
ring by alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkylmethyl, cycloalkylethyl or
2-(4-morpholinyl)ethyl, whether or not substituted in the cyclohexyl ring to
any extent.”.
3 Part
3 of Schedule 2 to Law amended
In paragraph 1 of Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the Law –
(a) before
the entry “Alprazolam” there shall be inserted the sub-paragraph
number “(a)”;
(b) after
the entry “N-Ethylamphetamine” there shall be inserted the
following sub-paragraphs –
“(b) 1-benzylpiperazine;
(c) any compound structurally derived from
1-benzylpiperazine or 1-phenylpiperazine by modification in either of the
following ways –
(i) by
substitution at the second nitrogen atom of the piperazine ring with alkyl,
benzyl, haloalkyl or phenyl substituents,
(ii) by
substitution in the aromatic ring to any extent with alkyl, alkoxy,
alkylenedioxy, halide or haloalkyl substituents;
(d) 3,4-methylenedioxymethcathinone (Methylone);
(e) 3-keto-3,4-methylbenzodioxylbutanamine
(Butylone);
(f) 4-methylmethcathinone
(Mephedrone).”.
4 Citation
and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs (Amendment of
Schedule 2 to Law) (Jersey) Order 2009 and shall come into force 7 days
after it is made.
