Motor Vehicles
(Driving Licences) (Amendment No. 2) (Jersey)
Order 2003

Coming into force in
accordance with Article 6
THE HOME AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 3, 4, 6, 6A and 10
of the Road Traffic
(Jersey) Law 1956,[1] orders as follows –
1 Interpretation
In this Order, unless the context otherwise
requires, “principal Order” means the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Jersey) Order 2003.[2]
2 Article
3 amended
In Article 3 of the principal Order –
(a) in
paragraph (1) for the words “may be either black and white or
coloured” there shall be substituted the words “shall be in
colour”;
(b) in
paragraph (2)(a) after the word “taken” there shall be
inserted the words “against a plain, evenly lit and light coloured
background”;
(c) in
paragraph (2)(b) the word “and” shall be revoked; and
(d) after
sub-paragraph (c) there shall be added the word “and” and the
following sub-paragraph –
“(d) be printed on high quality
photographic card.”.
3 Schedule
3 amended
In Schedule 3 of the principal Order, in the section headed “prescribed test” –
(a) for
the entry “£23.10” in the second column opposite the item
“Off road theory test” there shall be substituted the entry
“£23.65”;
(b) for
the entry “£35.70” in the second column opposite the item
“On road practical test other than in respect of category C and D
vehicles, and category A1, A and P vehicles by an applicant required to produce
a compulsory basic training certificate” there shall be substituted the
entry “£36.55”;
(c) for
the entry “£66.15” in the second column opposite the item
“On road practical test in respect of category C and D vehicles”
there shall be substituted the entry “£67.80”; and
(d) for
the entry “£30.40” in the second column opposite the item
“On road practical test in respect of category A1, A or P category by an
applicant required to produce a compulsory basic training certificate”
there shall be substituted the entry “£31.15”.
4 Schedule
5 amended
In Schedule 5 of the principal Order –
(a) the
entries “Australia”, “Canada”, “Greece”,
“Japan”, “Malta”, “Singapore”, “South
Africa”, “Spain”, “Sweden” and
“Zimbabwe” shall be revoked; and
(b) the
entries “Monaco” and “Quebec” shall be inserted in
their alphabetical positions.
5 Schedule
9 amended
In Schedule 9 of the principal Order after the words “date of
issue” there shall be added the words “and enables the holder for a
period of five years from the date of issue to obtain a licence.”.
6 Citation
and commencement
(1) This
Order may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment
No. 2) (Jersey) Order 2003 and, with the exception of Article 3, shall
come into force 7 days after it is made.
(2) Article
3 of this Order shall come into force on 1st January 2004.
