Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Amendment No. 18) (Jersey) Order 2005

1        Interpretation

In this Order, “principal Order” means the Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996.[2]

2        New Article 27A

After Article 27 of the principal Law there shall be inserted, in Part 3, the following Article –

3        Article 32 amended

In Article 32 of the principal Order, for the words “£150 for a period of six months’ validity of the permit” there shall be substituted the words “£200 for a period of 12 months’ validity of the permit”.

4        Part 1 of Schedule 1 amended

In Schedule 1 to the principal Order, in Part 1 –

(a)     for the item “Cattle Street” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

“Cattle Street

Minden Place to Beresford Street”;

(b)     for the item “Charing Cross (between No. 1 and Castle Street)” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

“Charing Cross (between No. 1 Charing Cross and York Street)

No. 1 Charing Cross to York Street”;

(c)     for the item “Devonshire Place” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

“Devonshire Place

Val Plaisant to Lemprière Street”;

(d)     after the item “Gloucester Street (between the Parade (west side) and the Parade (east side))” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

“Great Union Road (between Devonshire Place and Great Union Street)

Devonshire Place to Great Union Street”;

(e)     for the item “Hue Street (between Lemprière Street and Union Street)” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

“Hue Street (between Lemprière Street and Union Street)

Lemprière Street to Union Street”;

(f)      for the item “Le Geyt Street (between Devonshire Place and Union Street)” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

“Le Geyt Street (between Union Street and Devonshire Place)

Union Street to Devonshire Place”;

(g)     after the item “Parade, The (eastern arm)” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

“Parade, The (western arm)

York Street to Union Street”;

(h)     for the item “Union Street” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

“Union Street

Le Geyt Street to New Street”;

(i)      after the item “Windsor Road (between Great Union Road and Garden Lane)” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

“York Street

Charing Cross to the Parade”.

5        Part 3 of Schedule 1 amended

In Schedule 1 to the principal Order, in Part 3, the item “Nelson Street (between the entrance to Nelson Street Car Park and Bath Street)” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column, and the item “Vauxhall Street” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column, shall be deleted.

6        Schedule 2 amended

In Schedule 2 to the principal Order –

(a)     in Part 1 after the item “Queen’s Road” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

“Upper Midvale Road

Rouge Bouillon”;

(b)     in Part 3, at the end, in the first, second and third columns, there shall be added the following item and entries –

“All vehicles

Midvale Road

Rouge Bouillon”.

7        Schedule 3 amended

In Schedule 3 to the principal Order, after the group of roads “La Vallée des Vaux, Le Mont de la Trinité (Trinity Hill)”, there shall be inserted the following group of roads –

In Schedule 4 to the principal Order –

(a)     for the item “Burrard Street” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

“Burrard Street

North side South side (between a point 28 yards west of the eastern boundary of No. 71 Halkett Place and its junction with Halkett Place) South side (between New Street and the eastern side of Burrard Place)”;

(b)     for the item “Cannon Street” in the first column and the entry opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

North side South side (between its junction with Saville Street and the entrance to ‘John Wesley Court’)”;

(c)     for the item “Charing Cross” in the first column and the entries opposite in the second column there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

West side East side (between a point 23 yards south of Dumaresq Street and Pitt Street)”;

(d)     in the second column, for the first and second entries opposite the item “Don Street” in the first column there shall be substituted the following entry –

(e)     in the second column, for the third, fourth, fifth and sixth entries opposite the item “Esplanade” in the first column, there shall be substituted the following entry –

(f)      in the second column, for the fifth entry opposite the item “Gloucester Street” in the first column, there shall be substituted the entry “South side (between The Parade and the eastern boundary of the property ‘Everton House’)”;

(g)     in the first and second columns, for the item and entry relating to “Green Street”, there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

“Green Street

West side East side (between its junction with La Colomberie and the northern boundary of the property ‘No. 1 Richmond Villas’ and between a point 12 yards south of the northern boundary of the property ‘No. 1 Richmond Villas’ and its junction with Havre des Pas)”;

(h)     in the first and second columns, for the item and entry relating to “Hastings Road” there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

“Hastings Road

South side North side (between its junction with Roseville Street and a point 26 yards east, and between a point 61 yards east of its junction with Roseville Street and its junction with St Clement’s Road)”;

(i)      in the first and second columns there shall be deleted the item and entry relating to “Journeaux Street”;

(j)      in the first and second columns, for the item and entry relating to “Mulcaster Street”, there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

“Mulcaster Street

North side South side (between its junction with Church Street and its junction with Pier Road, and between a point 44 yards west of its junction with Pier Road and its junction with Caledonia Place)”;

(k)     in the second column, in the third entry opposite the item “Roseville Street” in the first column, for the number “47” there shall be substituted the number “37”;

(l)      in the second column, for the fourth entry opposite the item “Roseville Street” in the first column, there shall be substituted the entry “East side (between a point 4 yards north of the northern boundary of the property ‘Alphington’ and Croydon Road)”;

(m)    in the second column, in the sixth entry opposite the item “Roseville Street” in the first column, for the word “northern” there shall be substituted the word “southern”;

(n)     in the first and second columns, for the item and entry relating to “Union Street”, there shall be substituted the following item and entries –

9        Schedule 6 amended

In Schedule 6 to the principal Order, in Part 3, in the first and second columns, before the item and entry relating to “Vine Street” there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

“Old Street

Pedal cycles”.

10      Schedule 8 – Part 1 amended

In Schedule 8 to the principal Order, in Part 1 –

(a)     the item and entries relating to “Charing Cross” shall be deleted;

(b)     at the end there shall be added in the first and second columns the following item and entry –

“York Street

West side (between its junction with Dumaresq Street and a point 15 yards north)”.

11      Schedule 8 – Part 2 amended

In Schedule 8 to the principal Order, in Part 2 –

(a)     in the first and second columns, for the item and entry relating to “Burrard Street”, there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

South side (between the eastern side of Burrard Place and Don Street)”;

(b)     in the first and second columns, for the item and entry relating to “Cannon Street”, there shall be substituted the following item and entry –

(c)     in the second column, for the second, third, fourth and fifth entries opposite the item “Esplanade” in the first column, there shall be substituted the following entry –

12      Schedule 8 – Part 4 amended

In Schedule 8 to the principal Order, in Part 4 –

(a)     in the second column, for the first entry opposite the item “Columbus Street” in the first column, there shall be substituted the following entry –

(b)     in the first and second columns, after the item and entries relating to “Gas Place”, there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

“Hastings Road

North side (between a point 26 yards east of its junction with Roseville Street and a point 35 yards further east)”;

(c)     in the second column, for the second entry opposite the item “Roseville Street” in the first column, there shall be substituted the following entry –

(d)     in the second column, in the third entry opposite the item “Roseville Street” in the first column, for the word “northern” there shall be substituted the word “southern”.

13      Schedule 8 – Parts 6 and 13 amended

In Schedule 8 to the principal Order –

(a)     in Part 6, in the second column, after the entry relating to the item “South Hill” in the first column, there shall be inserted the following entry –

(b)     in Part 6, in the first and second columns, after the item and entry relating to “Vallée des Vaux”, there shall be inserted the following item and entry –

West side (between a point 10 yards north of its junction with Bellozanne Road and a point 130 yards further north)”;

(c)     in Part 13, in the first and second columns, the item and entry relating to “South Hill” shall be deleted;

(d)     at the end there shall be added the following Part –

14      Schedule 10 amended

In Schedule 10 to the principal Order, in Part 1 –

(a)     after the item “Beresford Street” in the first column and the entries opposite in the second, third and fourth columns there shall be inserted the following item and entries –

16      Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Amendment No. 18) (Jersey) Order 2005 and shall come into force 14 days after it is made.
