THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES, in pursuance of Articles 8,
29 and 46 of the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935[1], Articles 4, 7, 8, 10
and 16 of the Motor Vehicle Registration (Jersey) Law 1993[2] and Articles 6, 7, 8, 78 and
84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[3], orders as follows –
1 Motor Traffic (Public Service Vehicles)
(Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008 amended
In Article 2 of the Motor Traffic (Public
Services Vehicles) (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008[4] –
(a) for
paragraphs (1) and (2) there are substituted the following
paragraphs –
“(1) The fee for examination of a
vehicle for a certificate of fitness under Article 8 of the Law is
£123.60.
(2) The fee for re-examination of a vehicle for
a certificate of fitness under Article 8 of the Law, following a failure
to pass an earlier examination, is £61.80.”;
(b) for
paragraph (5) there is substituted the following paragraph –
“(5) The fee for an application
for a badge to drive a public service vehicle under Article 29 of the Law
is a composite fee comprising –
(a) in every case, £9.90;
(b) in the case of a cab, if the applicant for
the badge is required to pass a driving assessment test to satisfy the
Inspector that the applicant is capable of safely driving a vehicle of that
type, £80.55;
(c) in the case of a cab, if the applicant for
the badge is required to pass a knowledge test to satisfy the Inspector that
the applicant has an adequate knowledge of Jersey, £63.90;
(d) in the case of a char-à-banc, if the
applicant for the badge is required to pass a knowledge test to satisfy the
Inspector that the applicant has an adequate knowledge of Jersey, £43.40.”.

3 Motor
Cars (Driving Instruction) (Jersey) Order 1982 amended
For Article 7 of the Motor Cars (Driving Instruction) (Jersey)
Order 1982[6] there is substituted the
following Article –
(1) A person applying to submit himself or
herself to the written part of the examination shall pay a fee of £82.20.
(2) A person applying to submit himself or
herself to the practical part of the examination shall pay a fee of
£82.20.
(3) The fee to be paid by a person who applies
for the retention of his or her name in the register for a further period of
4 years shall be £163.70.
(4) The fee to be paid by a person who applies
for the entry of his or her name in the register shall be
£163.70.”.
4 Motor
Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Jersey) Order 1998 amended
In Article 2 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use)
(Jersey) Order 1998[7] for paragraph (7) there
is substituted the following paragraph –
“(7) For the purposes of
Article 78(3) of the Law, the fee to accompany an application for a
licence authorizing the use of a vehicle not complying with Orders under
Article 77 of the Law shall be –
(a) if the application is for a licence for the
use of the vehicle on a specified journey or for a specified purpose or for a
period of not more than 12 months, £82.20;
(b) if the application is for a licence for the
use of the vehicle in any other case, £147.25;
(c) if the application is a second or subsequent
application (after an earlier application under Article 78 of the Law was
refused within the period of 30 days before the second or subsequent
application is made) and both or all the applications are for a licence for the
use of the vehicle as referred to in sub paragraph (b),
£73.60.”.
5 Motor
Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Jersey) Order 2003 amended
In Schedule 3 to the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Jersey)
Order 2003[8], for the second part of the
table of fees, entitled Prescribed Test, there is substituted the following
part –

6 Citation
and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Transport and Technical Services
(Driver and Vehicle Standards – 2011 Fees) (Jersey) Order 2010
and comes into force on 1st January 2011.
