THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE makes this Order under Articles 59 and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 –

1        Road Traffic (Public Parking Places) (Jersey) Order 2006 amended

This Order amends the Road Traffic (Public Parking Places) (Jersey) Order 2006.

2        Article 8A (prescribed charges for parking units and season tickets) amended

(1)     This Article amends Article 8A.

(2)     In the table in paragraph (1), in item 1, for the entry in column 3 there is substituted “until the end of 31st December 2024, 46.67 pence; from 1st January 2025, 92.38 pence”.

(3)     In the table in paragraph (2) –

(a)     in item 1, for the entry in column 4 relating to an electric vehicle or plug in hybrid electric vehicle there is substituted “until the end of 31st December 2024, £74.60; from 1st January 2025, £149.20”;

(b)     in item 2, for the entry in column 4 relating to an electric vehicle or plug in hybrid electric vehicle there is substituted “until the end of 31st December 2024, £37.30; from 1st January 2025, £74.60”.

(4)     In paragraph (3), for “No” there is substituted “Subject to paragraphs (3A) and (3B), no”.

(5)     After paragraph (3) there is inserted –

“(3A) Paragraph (3B) applies in respect of an electric vehicle or a plug in hybrid electric vehicle first registered in Jersey during the 12 months beginning with 1st January 2024 by an individual mentioned in paragraph (3).

(3B)   No prescribed charge is payable in respect of that vehicle until 1st January 2025.”.

3        Schedule 1 (parking places) amended

(1)     This Article amends Schedule 1.

(2)     In Part 4 (St. John), there is inserted at the end –

“St. John’s Village Entrance Car Park

SJ3

La Rue des Buttes Car Park

SJ4”.

 

(3)     In Part 7 (Trinity), there is inserted at the end –

“Riley Field Car Park

T4

Trinity Parish Hall Car Park

T5

Trinity Youth Centre Car Park

T6”.

 

(4)     In Part 11 (St. Saviour) there is inserted –

(a)     after the entry relating to Langford Sports Centre Car Park –

“La Ruette du Sacrement Car Park

STS8A”;

 

(b)     at the end –

“St. Saviour’s Parish Hall Car Park

STS11”.

4        Schedule 2 (maximum parking periods) amended

(1)     This Article amends Schedule 2.

(2)     In Part 4 –

(a)     after “STS7” there is inserted “STS8A”;

(b)     after “STS10” there is inserted “STS11”;

(c)     after “T3” there is inserted “T4”, “T5” and “T6”.

(3)     At the end there is inserted –

“PART 20

The maximum parking period in respect of the following parking place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day is 20 minutes during any one visit. A valid parking disc must be displayed on the vehicle during the period when it is parked there.

PART 21

The maximum parking period in respect of the following parking place on any day is 5 hours during any one visit. A valid parking disc must be displayed on the vehicle during the period when it is parked there.

5        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Public Parking Places) (Amendment No. 20) (Jersey) Order 2023 and comes into force on 1st January 2024.
