Employment (Minimum Wage) (Amendment No. 13) (Jersey) Order 2019

THE MINISTER FOR SOCIAL SECURITY makes this Order under Articles 16(3) and 104 of the Employment (Jersey) Law 2003[1] –

1        Article 2 (The minimum wage) of the Employment (Minimum Wage) (Jersey) Order 2007 amended

In Article 2 of the Employment (Minimum Wage) (Jersey) Order 2007[2], for paragraphs (1), (2) and (2A), there is substituted –

“(1)    Except as otherwise provided by this Article, the minimum wage for an employee is an hourly rate of £8.32.

(2)     Subject to paragraph (2A), the minimum wage for a trainee is an hourly rate of £6.24.

(2A)   Once a trainee has completed a period or periods, in the aggregate, of 12 months’ approved training in the job, the minimum wage for the trainee in that job is an hourly rate of £7.28.”.

2        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Employment (Minimum Wage) (Amendment No. 13) (Jersey) Order 2019 and comes into force on 1st April 2020.
