Shipping (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2013

THE MINISTER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, in pursuance of Articles 193 and 196 of the Shipping (Jersey) Law 2002[1], orders as follows –

1        Fees under the Shipping (Jersey) Law 2002

(1)     The Schedule to this Order shall have effect for the purpose of prescribing fees in respect of –

(a)     the issue of certificates, licences or other documents;

(b)     the measurement, inspection and examination of ships; and

(c)     the consideration of applications,

carried out by or on behalf of the Minister for Economic Development under the provisions, listed in column 1 of the table in the Schedule, of enactments made under the Shipping (Jersey) Law 2002[2] mentioned in the cross-headings in that table.

(2)     A fee specified in column 3 of the table in the Schedule is the fee chargeable in respect of the action specified in the corresponding entry in column 2 of the table.

(3)     Where a fee is specified in column 3 of the table by way of an hourly rate, the rate is chargeable by reference to the number of hours (including parts of hours rounded up to the nearest whole hour) taken to carry out the action specified in the corresponding entry in column 2 of the table.

2        Revocation

The Shipping (Fees) (No. 2) (Jersey) Order 2008[3] is revoked.

3        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Shipping (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2013, and shall come into force immediately after the coming into force of the Shipping (Safety Code – Yachts and Small Ships) Regulations 2013[4].
