SOCIAL SECURITY (CONTRIBUTIONS) (AMENDMENT No. 7) (JERSEY) ORDER 2001

                THE EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SECURITY COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 10, 11, 46, 47 and 51 of the Social Security (Jersey) Law 1974,[1] as amended,[2] orders as follows -

 

                1.      For Article 17 of the Social Security (Contributions) (Jersey) Order 1975,[3] as amended, there shall be substituted the following Article -

 

Return of amount paid in error.

 

          17.-(1)  This Article applies to an amount paid to the Committee in the erroneous belief that it was a contribution payable under the Law.

 

          (2)     The Committee shall, subject to paragraphs (3), return the amount to the person who paid it to the Committee.

 

          (3)     The Committee shall deduct from the amount paid to it -

 

          (a)     any amount it has treated under Article 16 as paid on account of other contributions; and

 

          (b)     any amount it has paid by way of benefit in the belief that the amount paid under this Article was a contribution.”.

 

                2.      This Order may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) (Amendment No. 7) (Jersey) Order 2001 and shall come into force forthwith.
