(Public Service Vehicles) (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008

THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES, in pursuance of Articles 8(1),
9(1), 13(5), 29(1) and 46 of the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935[1], orders as follows –
1 Interpretation
In this Order “Law” means the Motor
Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935[2].
2 Fees
payable under the Law
(1) The
fee for examination of a vehicle for a certificate of fitness under
Article 8 of the Law is £120.60.
(2) The
fee for re-examination of a vehicle for a certificate of fitness under
Article 8 of the Law, following a failure to pass an earlier examination,
is £60.30.
(3) The
fee for the grant of a public service vehicle licence under Article 9 of
the Law, whether it is the first grant of the licence or a renewal, is
75 pence for each passenger who may be carried in the vehicle under the
licence.
(4) The
fee for the issue of a replacement public service vehicle licence plate under
Article 13(5) of the Law is £11.
(5) The
fee for an application for a badge to drive a public service vehicle under
Article 29 of the Law is a composite fee comprising –
(a) in
every case, £9.65;
(b) in
the case of a cab, if the applicant for the badge is required to pass a driving
assessment test to satisfy the Inspector that the applicant is capable of
safely driving a vehicle of that type, £76.65;
(c) in
the case of a cab, if the applicant for the badge is required to pass a
knowledge test to satisfy the Inspector that the applicant has an adequate
knowledge of Jersey, £60.80;
(d) in
the case of a char-à-banc, if the applicant for the badge is required to
pass a knowledge test to satisfy the Inspector that the applicant has an
adequate knowledge of Jersey, £41.30.
3 Revocation
The Motor Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Fees) (No. 2)
(Jersey) Order 2007[3] is revoked.
4 Citation
and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Motor Traffic (Public Service
Vehicles) (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 1st January
2009.
