Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment No. 11) (Jersey) Order 2008

THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES, in pursuance of Articles 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 20 and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[1], orders as follows –

1        Interpretation

In this Order “principal Order” means the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Jersey) Order 2003[2].

2        Article 21 amended

In Article 21(1)(c) of the principal Order all of the words following the words “basic training course” shall be deleted.

3        Article 24 amended

In Article 24(4)(e) of the principal Order all of the words following the words “basic training course” shall be deleted.

4        Schedule 3 amended

In Schedule 3 to the principal Order for the entries in the table in respect of the prescribed test there shall be substituted the following entries –

 

“Prescribed test

Compulsory basic training course (and giving of compulsory basic training certificate if successful)

Duplicate copy of compulsory basic training certificate

£10.25

Off road theory test

£26.65

On road practical test other than –

(a)     in respect of category C and D vehicles; and

(b)     in respect of category A1, A and P vehicles, where the applicant is required to produce a compulsory basic training certificate

£41.30

On road practical test in respect of category C and D vehicles

£76.65

On road practical test in respect of category A1, A or P category by an applicant required to produce a compulsory basic training certificate

£35.15

Duplicate copy of certificate or statement in respect of result of theory test or practical test

£10.25.”.

5        Schedule 6 amended

(1)     In Part 1 of Schedule 6 to the principal Order, in the form of compulsory basic training certificate, the words “VALID FOR 3 YEARS FROM DATE OF COURSE COMPLETION” shall be deleted.

(2)     A compulsory basic training certificate given before this Order came into force shall be read as if the words “VALID FOR 3 YEARS FROM DATE OF COURSE COMPLETION” were deleted.

6        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment No. 11) (Jersey) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 1st January 2009.
