Union Legislation (Addition of Treaties) (Jersey) Order 2020

Coming into
force in accordance with Article 2
THE MINISTER FOR EXTERNAL RELATIONS makes this Order under Article 1
of the European Union Legislation (Implementation) (Jersey) Law 2014[1] and with the approval of the Council of Ministers –
1 Article 1 (interpretation) of the European Union Legislation
(Implementation) (Jersey) Law 2014 amended
In Article 1 of the
European Union Legislation (Implementation) (Jersey) Law 2014[2] –
(a) in paragraph (1), in
the definition “EU Treaties” after sub-paragraph (d) there is
inserted –
“(e) the Withdrawal Agreement;
(f) the Trade and Cooperation
Agreement (“TCA”).”;
(b) in paragraph (2)
after sub-paragraph (d) there is inserted –
“(e) the “Withdrawal Agreement”
is the agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy
Community signed in Brussels and London on 24th January 2020;
(f) the “Trade and
Cooperation Agreement” is the trade and cooperation agreement between the
European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part, signed
in Brussels and London on 30th December 2020.”.
2 Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the European Union
Legislation (Addition of Treaties) (Jersey) Order 2020 and comes into force
on the commencement of Article 2 of the European Union (Repeal and
Amendment) (Jersey) Law 2018[3].
