STAY OF PETITION / CAUSE
APPLICATION
If a suit is defended and, as a result of compromise or
otherwise, the petitioner /applicant does not wish to proceed with the
petition/cause application and is content to allow the cause to proceed to a
hearing on the cross-petition/cross-cause application and the respondent's
answer, then application to stay proceedings arising from the prayer of the
petition/cause application shall be made by the respondent by summons to the Greffier. Ancillary prayers for residence, maintenance etc.
should remain unstayed unless a stay is specifically
sought and conceded.
