Motor Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008

1        Interpretation

In this Order “Law” means the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935.

2        Fees payable under the Law[1]

(1)     The fee for examination of a vehicle for a certificate of fitness under Article 8 of the Law is £176.30.[2]

(2)     The fee for re-examination of a vehicle for a certificate of fitness under Article 8 of the Law, following a failure to pass an earlier examination, is £88.10.[3]

(3)     The fee for the grant of a public service vehicle licence under Article 9 of the Law, whether it is the first grant of the licence or a renewal, is £1 for each passenger who may be carried in the vehicle under the licence.[4]

(4)     The fee for the issue of a replacement public service vehicle licence plate under Article 13(5) of the Law is £11.70.[5]

(5)     The fee for an application for a badge to drive a public service vehicle under Article 29 of the Law is a composite fee comprising –

(a)     in every case, £11.70;

(b)     in the case of a cab, if the applicant for the badge is required to pass a driving assessment test to satisfy the Inspector that the applicant is capable of safely driving a vehicle of that type, £112.70;

(c)     in the case of a cab, if the applicant for the badge is required to pass a knowledge test to satisfy the Inspector that the applicant has an adequate knowledge of Jersey, £86.10;

(d)     in the case of a char-à-banc, if the applicant for the badge is required to pass a knowledge test to satisfy the Inspector that the applicant has an adequate knowledge of Jersey, £59.90.[6]

This Order may be cited as the Motor Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008.
