(Consequential Provisions) (Jersey) Law 1994
A LAW to provide for various matters in
consequence of the extension of the territorial sea adjacent to Jersey

1 Interpretation
(1) In
this Law, unless the context otherwise requires –
“Act” means
the Territorial Sea Act 1987 of the United Kingdom as it has effect in Jersey
by virtue of an Order in Council under section 4(4) of that Act; and
“extended
territorial sea” means any area which becomes part of the territorial sea
adjacent to Jersey under or by virtue of section 1 of the Act.
(2) Unless
the context otherwise requires, a reference in this Law to an
enactment –
(a) is a reference to that enactment as amended
from time to time;
(b) includes an enactment of the United Kingdom
as extended or applied to Jersey.
2 General modifications of
enactments
Subject to the provisions of this Law, a reference, however
worded, in any enactment, whether passed before or after the commencement of
this Article, to the territorial sea adjacent to Jersey shall be construed in
accordance with the provisions of section 1 of the Act and with any provision
made or having effect as if made, under that section.
3 Amendment of enactments
(1) The
enactments specified in the Schedule shall be amended in accordance with that Schedule
(being minor amendments and amendments consequential on the extension of the
territorial sea).
(2) The
States may make Regulations amending any enactment passed or made before this Law
comes into force to an extent similar in nature to the amendments made by the Schedule
to this Law.
4 Citation
This Law may be cited as the Territorial Sea (Consequential
Provisions) (Jersey) Law 1994.
