COMPANIES (JERSEY) LAW 1991 (APPOINTED DAY) ACT 1991

THE STATES, in pursuance of Article 224 of the Companies (Jersey) Law 19911 have made the following Act –

1.-(1)  Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3) of this Article, the Companies (Jersey) Law 1991 (hereinafter referred to as “the Law”) shall come into force on 30th March 1992.

(2)     Article 114 of the Law shall come into force on 30th March 1992 except for the purposes of a distribution by a company which –

(a)     is an open-ended investment company; and

(b)     holds a permit as a functionary of Group 1 of Part II of the Schedule to the Collective Investment Funds (Jersey) Law 1988,2 as amended.

(3)     Article 223 of the Law shall come into force on 30th March 1992 except insofar as it provides for the repeal of Article 42

of the “Loi (1861) sur les Sociétés à Responsabilité Limitée”3 in relation to a company to which paragraph (2) of this Article applies.

2.             This Act may be cited as the Companies (Jersey) Law 1991 (Appointed Day) Act 1991.
